Scott Law

Lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass (sometimes), joke telling and vocals (when he feels like it)

Scott is the only member not originally from Central New York.  He was born in Milwaukee, WI, graduated High School and College in Michigan.  Prior to moving to New York in 1999, he lived in California, Ohio, and North Carolina.

He has been playing guitar since he was 7 years old.  Originally trained on classical guitar until he was exposed to the guitar works of Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Terry Kath, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Alex Lifeson,  Joe Perry to name a few.  Then, much to his parents’ dismay, put down the nylon string classical, got his first electric guitar and turned the amp to 11.  His hearing has never been the same since.

Fast forwarding a long, long way to today, Scott presently resides in Sodus Point, NY.  Rock and jazz are two of his favorite genres to play.  Referred to commonly as “that tall bald guitar player”, he has played locally in Bad Habit, Sound Conspiracy, Avalon and Unbalanced.  Besides Midnight Blind, Scott currently plays acoustic music around the area with Roland Pray, as well as in the trio, Client #8.  He also plays in the Rochester based band Rainline, where their original music has been played in regular rotation on satellite and internet radio.  Scott is also working on finishing his solo album displaying his wide range of musical genre influences.

Scott lends his guitar playing style to the sonic union of talent called Midnight Blind.  He and Tony combine forces to fill a guitar arsenal that blends great together.  Scott feels the fun in this band comes from being friends first, then being free to switch instruments and roles to keep things interesting.  Plus the band puts up with his warped sense of humor, rehearsal room flatulence issues, and the occasional inappropriate “wardrobe malfunction”.

When Scott is not playing music, which is rarely, he enjoys motorcycling, bicycling, cooking, and listening to music.  Best of all he likes eating and drinking with good friends.  He has two grown children, one training to be a C-130 Crew Chief in the Air Force; the other a scholar and track star at Binghamton University.
